Asparagus
- Time: 5 min.
Asparagus is great served as a starter, for lunch, as a side dish, on top of pasta, with a fritata, or even as breaky with an egg. Keep the asparagus in the fridge. If you cut 1 cm. off the bottoms and stand in a glass of water they should last a while. What you need:
- Asparagus, 5 pieces
- Boiling water
- Salt, pepper
Optional extras:
- Cheese, grated
- Slices of ham
- Tomato
- Poached egg or two
- Toast
It’s super easy to make - just:
- Boil a pot of water and add salt
- Cut off tough bottoms of the asparagus, drop into the water.
- Cook for up to 5 mins. Just test it and see that it’s not too crunchy. And serve!
If you happen to buy the really thin smaller type just cook for 1-2 mins.Serve: Just drain it and crack salt pepper on top and eat. Or wrap in a slice of ham, or under eggs or cheese, or as a sidedish.
